Everybody is allowed and even encouraged to edit any of the articles on the MaltaWiki. The only thing we ask is that the text or images you provide are objective and written in good English. We also ask you to submit only orginal text to the Wiki.

How you can contribute to the MaltaWiki - the Malta Popular Encyclopedia
It is open for everyone to create articles and make changes to articles in the MaltaWiki. See how to add an article. You will get the best user experience if you register with a username on the website. Amongst other features, this will enable you to subscribe to changes of articles.
Information contributed to articles are to be objective, informational and written in thrid person. Avoid using first person form or present subjective opinion as this will be deleted.
You are welcome to include links to your own websites or other information material, but please do not overdo this.
If you have questions or would like to submit an article in Word or PDF-format, please contact the editor.
How to make changes to an already existing article
It's very easy to edit the content of an article:
- Click the "edit" or "create" page tab on the top of the article you wish to edit
- Make changes to the text
- Click the "Save page" button
If you wish to edit the text in WYSIWYG ( What You See Is What You Get) mode, click the link for "Rich editor" above the text area.
If you wish to recieve updates on changes other people make to the page, check "Watch this page" before you click the "Save page" button. This functionality provides you have registered a user account and verified your e-mail address.
Uploading a picture
To upload a picture you need to be logged in with a valid user account. You can find the link to upload pictures in the 'Toolbox' in the right column under 'Upload file'.
How to add a new article
You can create a new article by creating a new link in an already existing article. All you have to do is to select the text you wish to make linkable, click the "Insert link" button and type in the name of the new article in the dialogue box that appears.
Captcha - fighting spam
To remove the possibility for spambot postings on the wiki, a captcha system has been installed. When you edit an article as an anonymous user or when you create a user account, you will be presented with a red textbox requirering you to repeat two words written in a way that only human users can understand.
As the spammers have advanced in technology, captcha has now been activated for all user actions on the wiki.
