Isle of MTV is a festival arranged by MTV in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority.
Isle of MTV is a huge concert on the place of The Granaries in Floriana. The concert in Floriana has a capacity of 50 000 people. No booking or purchase of tickets is required as the concert is held free of charge to the audience and is on a first come, first serve basis.
The annual amount of tourists under 24 to visit Malta has doubled since the first Isle of MTV concert. Isle of MTV is important to promote Malta as a destination to the young.

[edit] Confirmed artists for Isle of MTV 2012
The line-up for Isle of MTV 2012 was finally announced in mid April 2012, it has been confirmed that the festival will star artists Nelly Furtado, Flo Rida, Cassie and Will.i.am. While Nelly Furtado needs no introduction, Will.i.am is a solo artist which is also the lead singer in the group Black Eyed Peas, who has previously starred at Isle of MTV.

This is an open air concert and no tickets are needed. Just turn up early if you want to be up front and make sure you use public transport because parking will be impossible in an area where parking is impossible on an average day!

Isle of MTV 2011 was held in Malta at the Floriana Granaries in June 2011. More than 40 000 people attended the show. The concert was screened on TV in more than 20 countries a few days after the concert.

Isle of MTV 2010 was held on Wednesday the 30. June. The Isle of MTV concert served as a culmination of the 6 long festival of Malta Music Week. The festival brings music and beach parties across the island.

The festival has been held in Malta annually since 2007. The concert is shown in an hour-long special on MTV in Europe later in the summer. Before coming to Malta, Isle of MTV was arranged in Torre de Belém, Lisbon, Portugal (2002), Ile du Gaou, Six-Fours Les Plages, France (2003), Tossa De Mar, Costa Brava, Spain (2004) and Piazza dell Unita' d'Italia, Trieste, Italy (2005).
