NIC Malta provides technical support for the internet exchange in close cooperation with the University of Malta.
The Malta Internet eXchange provides a backbone to route the traffic among the Internet Service Providers (ISP) operating within the Maltese islands. This is valid for country-internal traffic only. Traffic from/ to sites outside the Maltese islands will never traverse the MIX network and will be routed through the international connection of the individual ISPs.
